International Day of Women and Girls in Science - mini-profiles of women working in science at the University of Groningen 2
Inspired by the fact that it will be the International Day of Women and Girls in Science on the 11th of February, and by this post from the York Structural Biology Laboratory, I will be uploading mini profiles of women in science working at the University of Groningen, in the Netherlands, where I also work.
The goal of these mini-profiles is to show the diversity of women in science, to provide role models and to increase visibility.
The second profile is of Assistant Professor Edita Jurak. I hope that you will enjoy this and the rest of the series!

How did you get into science?
I did an extracurricular course when I was 12 in elementary school repeating the Mendel's experiments with mutation and fruit flies - fell in love with science and had very good role models and teachers over the years so here I am :)
Where else have you worked/studied?
Zagreb: ecology/ biology, Wageningen: Biochemistry PhD and Postdoc, Aalto University (Finland) postdoc.
What are your hobbies/what do you do for fun?
Walking, playing, training with my dog. Cooking, reading and learning (fantasy books, psychology), gardening, concerts and travels (nature over city any day)
